So far we had 11 days in Namibia

So here are the details: We started after a 10h flight in Windhoek around 8 am to drive to Otavi (429 km). We had around 34 °C without an AC, because it was broken... So we changed the car on the next morning in Otavi. We stayed in Otavi for 2 nights. There we met Romeo, a gentle cheetah. After leaving Otavi we went straight to the Etosha National Park. We entered the park through the east gate next to Namutoni, where we stayed the next 3 nights. There we went to a lot of game drives by our owne car. There we found giraffs, zebras, lions, gnus, springboks, kudus, impalas, orix, elefants and even a black mamba.

From Namutoni, we went to the Okaukuejo Camp. On the way we saw rhinos, elefants and a cheetah. At Okaukuejo we stayed anothere night, but as this was a long trip with a non-4X4 car, we decided to take a guided night-drive to see animals. This was a very good decision, because we saw 3 spotted hyhenas, a caracal some jackals and rhinos.

Early at the next morning we started another long trip on a very bad gravel road to the new Dolomite Camp on top of the so called Dolomite Mountain. This is a very nice camp with the best pool we have seen so far in Namibia. It is placed on the edge of the mountens and it is a overfall pool. You feel like you are on top of the world with a never ending pool. This Camp is a tended one and has no fences, so the animals can come to the tend at night and day.
We stayed at the Dolomites Camp for two nights because ot is a great place for relaxing, but we also did one guided game drive. Due to the fact that there is no gas station at this Camp it was the only option to do a drive for us. But in this part of the Etosha the animals are not used to cars, so we havent seen so many of them as before.

We started early again on the 13th to leave the Etosha Park towards Palmwag and the Palmwag Lodge. We took the way through the Grootberg pass. This was again a very challenging drive with a non-4X4, but we made it! The landscape is very facinating there, but without a 4X4 I would not recomment it. We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights, would not recomment the lodge either.

On our way back to Windhoek, we yesterday drove 780 km to avoid gravel roads to Henties Bay near Swakopmund (would not do so again, because the Hotel we stayed was not so good). And today we arrived in Swakopmund in a nice place called "Alte Brücke". So lets see what the next two days will bring. The plan is to contiue the journay to Windhoek in 3 dayes via Omaruru where we will stay two more nigths and than back to Windhoek to leave Namibia on the 22nd.
